Going Nerd

This past few weeks, I've been leaning over being addicted to this quiz game site.

Game of Nerds was introduced to me by a friend who thought I just could not pass the invitation - and yes, my friend was right.

My Game of Nerds homepage

The day my friend invited me was the day my brain started to think.. again.
I can't help but stress that MY BRAIN STARTED WORKING AGAIN!
All the information trapped in the innermost part of my brain was dug one by one just to answer that one question I had seen or heard somewhere, sometime. Most of the time, it was just a random letter pressed due to the stressful ticking of the game clock.

I am a little far down compared to my nerd friends but one day, with all my brain cells revived, coins paid for full perks and celebrity friends hired, I might have the chance of someday mocking them too.

The day I turned a year older

Every year, November 3 will just be one of those days that you may probably call ordinary.
But I believe it was not as ordinary as it seemed the day my mom and my dad got me from God.
mini Crisel

I often hear my parents saying I could cry, suck my pacifier then cry again.

This year, I turned 27.
My day started just like any other day - waking up to my alarm.

I was overwhelmed by the birthday greetings I received from Facebook, but what got me was how God planned my day for me.

First, I received text messages from my parents, my best friend, my cousin, Raisa and my godmother. I was so overwhelmed, I cried.
birthday card from Raisa

I also received the awesome-est messages from my brother and sister.

Joshin Birthday card, treats from Ms Yoshioka, chocolates from Mariko
and a letter from Yuu
Then Yuu-chan sent me a reply letter asking me when my birthday was. Her mom was surprised to how timely her daughter's question was when I answered - 'It's today!'

My boss gave me treats and another japanese friend gave me chocolates.

There were overflowing birthday greetings in my email and I couldn't thank them enough for remembering me.

Surprise coffee

My previous trainer also approached me and treated me for coffee.

And so did my previous manager.
Warm coffee

Though I worked overtime, and never did get anyone for a birthday party, I cooked pasta and chatted with my family.

This may seem I celebrated my birthday alone - but it was God's way of giving me time to celebrate my birthday with my family. I needed it and He just knows me too well.

You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise;    you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down;    you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely.

Forever Cherished: FRIENDS

The friend I'll always have.
The friend who'll always be there.
Good times, bad times, for shopping, for coffee, for food, for everything.

I may not see her often nor talk to her everyday.
But since we are friends, it will be worth a couple of coffee, pizza, or anything we crave for and we are back in track with each others' lives.

She is the one with the extreme palette, the one who could eat the brain of some animal but I am the monster when it comes to ketchup and mayonnaise.

Dinna and me
This is definitely one of my best life's blessings and its wrapped and labeled DINNA.

To my soon to be 27 self: A reflection of the year that was

Its just days before you'll be turning a year older.

I know you had been wiser in the 26 years you have been blessed to live on earth.
You had accumulated friends that will be worth more than a lifetime to cherish,

stories to tell your future husband, kids or even grandkids,

experiences to remind you that you had been wrong once,

and most especially faith that will mould you to be a more better individual than what you are now.

"Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
Whom have I in heaven but you?
and the earth has nothing I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." - Psalm 73:23-26

あたり/Atari: The story of extreme circumstances

I remember, date and time October 28, Friday, 15 after 10. (In the tune of M2M's The day you went away)

It was after Japanese class at Nada.
We went to KFC for dinner.
Then headed home.

As my friend said, it was his くじ (lottery) day at 7-eleven.

So we stopped by the convenience store, bought food and to try his luck, he went up and asked a lottery ticket for the Gundam Unicorn head.

Expecting letters to appear in his ticket, he was surprised to hear the convenience store guy say he won!

おめでとう/Congratulations

Countless ways of thanking Yuu

I thought I had only nosebleeds until the day I received this envelope. It was a very stressful day and this really made my day.

It was a letter from Yuu (ゆう). Her mom said she was not able to say goodbye when they left that was why she made me this:

Inside were pieces of heart, penguin, and some unrecognizable origami characters. Well, I think the orange one is a grasshopper while the red one is a bit tricky.. Maybe I'll ask someone to explain that to me.

(L-R) brown heart, dark brown frog(?), unknown red paper, orange grasshopper and yellow penguin

What excited me was the letter it had inside. I was glad that Yuu's mom was there to help me decipher the coded message. (By the way, I placed translations - in case I forget Japanese one day)

That crazy thing called love

This movie got my impatient little self believing in love again...

First Love (Crazy Little Thing called love) is a Thai movie that captured my heart to tears.
This may not be the only movie that did that, but this was the most recent.

I love how movies show the feelings a man hides. I only know how we, girls, feel and react about anything and everything the man of our dreams do or say. But I never get to see how men do.

For all the things we do to impress the guys we like, it is the sweetest thing for them to appreciate it. The occasional 'kilig' moments and the feeling we get when you turn our way are just simple rewards. Making you fall for us too will be the greatest prize.

With this, I will be looking forward to the most special love story written just for me.

The day I started blogging

I was getting curious why people are blogging so I pushed my lazy self to start it.

I wanted to let other people know what I think and I wanted to tell them of the adventures I've done.
I have all kinds of ideas running in my mind but where to start is the one thing that stops me from doing anything.

For now, I will try to commit to something I started and hopefully I may be able to learn from this too.
